Crochet to the Moon Progress - June 2021

Progress Update

Thank you to everyone who counted up their yardage and posted it in the last week; that made all the difference! We blew our goal of making it to the space station this month out of the water. In May, we logged 96,501 yards as a collective. We are definitely gaining momentum, and we’ll make it to our next milestone before you know it.

We need to double the amount we have used thus far to make it to the edge of the Thermosphere and into the Exosphere. The Exosphere is 10 million yards long, but once we accomplish that, we will have exited Earth’s atmosphere!

We hit another exciting milestone this month as we are now under 420 million yards to go. It’s good to see 419 on the countdown! Keep going; we will make it there with your help.

And don’t forget! Knitting and yarn bombing count, too. Get creative!

If you haven’t found us on social media yet, check out @crochet_to_the_moon on Instagram or our Facebook group. If you post your photos there, we will work to get some of them posted!
